Three figures, one bar
Balance is the big number. Under it, a bar splits it into earlier months and this month, so “two months behind plus this one” is a shape, not arithmetic.
A report is a claim
A reported payment shows beside the balance, never subtracted from it. The copy says the landlord has it, not that the tenant is doubted.
Who wrote it down
Every history entry says whether you reported it or the landlord or agent recorded it for you. That line settles disputes.
